All AMD, No Intel: TUXEDO InfinityBook Pro 14 Gen10 Unveiled

TUXEDO InfinityBook Pro 14 Gen10 Unveiled

Linux users have always preferred AMD over Intel – at least, this is what I’ve seen and read since the beginning of my Linux journey in 2014. TUXEDO Computers confirms once again that it is listening to feedback, as Linux users continue arguing against Intel and demanding more AMD hardware. Therefore, the German-based hardware manufacturer has unveiled the TUXEDO InfinityBook Pro 14 Gen10 Linux Laptop with more red power! So, what does this new generation of elegant Linux laptops offer?

Three AMD Ryzen Options, No Intel Variant

In this generation, TUXEDO Computers dropped the Intel variant (a move I personally appreciate, and I believe many of you do too) and instead offers three AMD Ryzen AI 300 processor options to choose from:

  • AMD Ryzen AI 7 350: 8 cores, 16 threads, up to 5 GHz, 16 MB L3 cache
  • AMD Ryzen AI 9 365: 10 cores, 20 threads, up to 5 GHz, 24 MB L3 cache
  • AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370: 12 cores, 24 threads, up to 5.1 GHz, 24 MB L3 cache

These new processors deliver up to 40% more performance compared to the InfinityBook Pro 14 Gen 9 powered by the Ryzen 7 8845HS. With a maximum TDP of 65 W (adjustable via the TUXEDO Control Center) and built on an efficient 4 nm process, they offer impressive power without compromising on energy efficiency. These new red hearts are more than capable—not just for everyday tasks like browsing or writing but also for heavier workloads like compiling the Linux kernel.

Graphics performance also gets a significant upgrade—up to 30% faster—thanks to AMD’s Radeon 800M series integrated GPUs:

  • Radeon 860M (Ryzen AI 7 350): 8 GPU cores, up to 3 GHz
  • Radeon 880M (Ryzen AI 9 365): 12 GPU cores, up to 2.9 GHz
  • Radeon 890M (Ryzen AI 9 HX 370): 16 GPU cores, up to 2.9 GHz

Notice the “AI” in the CPU names? Still concerned about AI on Linux? Personally, I believe the issue isn’t AI itself but rather how it’s being misused by corporations and individuals. To avoid feeding your data into cloud-hosted models—where it’s likely exploited for profit—running AI models locally is a smart choice. That’s where the Ryzen AI engine in the InfinityBook Pro 14 Gen10 comes into play.

Compared to its predecessor, it delivers up to 110% faster AI performance. The Ryzen 7 8845HS in Gen 9 achieves around 38 TOPS total, including the NPU. In contrast, the new Ryzen AI 7 350 reaches up to 66 TOPS, while the Ryzen AI 9 365 can deliver up to 80 TOPS.

💬 Do you run AI models locally, or do you rely on cloud-based tools? And which model or tool is your favorite?

Finally, the cooling system remains unchanged from the previous generation: two 7 mm thin fans and two heat pipes keep the device cool and quiet even under heavy load.

Same Design and Connectivity DNA

TUXEDO Computers made the right decision by keeping the same phenotype in this new generation, offering the same ultra-compact, sturdy yet elegant, high-quality all-metal chassis—specifically, aluminum.

In terms of dimensions, the InfinityBook Pro 14 Gen10 matches its predecessor exactly: Width: 311 mm, Height: 17 mm, Depth: 220 mm. It weighs just 1.45 kg, which is 20 g lighter than the 1.47 kg of the Gen 9—making this Linux laptop even more portable.

Also staying the same is the wide glass precision touchpad (or trackpad, if you prefer) and the quiet, white-backlit keyboard, available in both ISO and ANSI layouts.

The port selection remains unchanged. You still get: 1× Kensington Lock, 1× USB-A 2.0, 2× USB-A 3.2 Gen1, 1× USB-C 3.2 Gen2, 1× USB4, 1× 2-in-1 audio jack (microphone-in & headphone-out), 1× HDMI 2.0b, 1× RJ45 LAN, and 1× SD card reader.

An extra USB-C port would’ve been a welcome addition—or even swapping one USB-A for a USB-C. Still, this setup allows the laptop to handle up to three external screens, including DisplayPort 2.1 via the USB4 port.

Since we’re talking about connectivity, let’s not skip wireless. No changes here either: the laptop still comes with the Intel AX210 card, providing Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

One more welcome gene carried over from the previous generation is the microphone noise-cancelling feature, which is great for video conferencing. The IR sensor-equipped webcam—for facial authentication—and the privacy shutter are still here as well. I still hope to see physical kill switches for the mic and wireless modules in future generations.

Brighter 3K Display

The Omnia display in my InfinityBook Pro 16 Gen8 was—and still is—one of the best I’ve seen on a laptop. So, when I see “Omnia” in the display specs of a Linux laptop, I know it’s going to offer a pleasant visual experience.

While it offers the same 3K resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio with 100% sRGB color coverage and a 120 Hz refresh rate (adjustable to 60 Hz) as its predecessors, the InfinityBook Pro 14 Gen10 features an even brighter panel—500 nits—for better outdoor usability. It is marketed as a business companion, after all, and not all business is done indoors.

Moreover, the display hinge still offers 180° flexibility, so you can choose the viewing angle or stand you prefer.

More Powerful Charging

The TUXEDO InfinityBook Pro 14 Gen10 comes with the same large 80 Wh battery, delivering up to 9 hours of web browsing—just like its predecessor. What’s new, however, is the USB-C power supply, which now delivers 150 watts instead of 100 watts, all while keeping its compact, lightweight, and travel-friendly design—maintaining the laptop’s high portability.

The new USB-C power supply can effortlessly recharge the battery while also supplying enough power for the CPU to perform at full capacity. You can use either the USB-C port on the left side or the USB4 port on the back, as both support Power Delivery DC-In.

It’s worth noting that charging behavior and battery thresholds can be configured using the TUXEDO Control Center.
