VPN battles: iTopVPN review, an ambitious VPN?

The need for VPN services is increasing with the increase in cyber threats, which has ignited the flames of competition in this market. Among the companies that compete in this sector is iTopVPN.

What drives me to write about it are the tempting offers it has been offering recently. But before addressing these offers, we will try to address its features, pros and cons in a way that makes you decide if it is really worth trying.

  • Feature-limited free plan: 700MB/day & 16 servers;
  • 1800+ servers & 100+ locations: Includes servers in the USA;
  • Unlimited bandwidth (data);
  • P2P and torrenting support (anonymously);
  • Static or dynamic IP option;
  • Attractive/cheap pricing plans;
  • Simple and modern app interface;
  • Support 5 devices at the same time;
  • "15-day Full Money Back Guarantee for all subscription plans".

Cons

  • Proprietary;
  • No dedicated Linux app: Compatible with Windows, Mac, Android and iOS;
  • Lack of OpenVPN protocol support;
  • The alert/notification system needs more work: Lack of notifications control option;
  • Unnecessary personal information is required in the registration form (Your full name, city and zip code).

My impression

iTopVPN is currently one of the best VPN services on the market, and what makes it special is the amount of features it offers and its interesting pricing plans. However, iTop needs to add some fundamental features, such as OpenVPN, and fix the aforementioned flaws/cons. The main serious flaw, for me, is the lack of Linux support, which the company should fix it as soon as possible.
